THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU ARRIVE: CONFERENCE FEE covers all expenses except personal items, such as: cigarettes, stamps, books, FLC logo items, snacks, and Thursday evening offering. COMMUNICATION INFORMATION: The telephone number for emergencies during the conference week is 315 781-3656, which is the Campus Security Office. They will relay any emergency messages to our group. BRING-ALONG RECOMMENDATIONS: Personal toiletries including soap and shampoo, Bible, notebook, pen or pencil, coffee mug, alarm clock, fan, swim suit, food and drink for snacking, snacks to share at evening social hour, radio, small lamp, musical instrument, music and music stand, board games, cards, golf clubs, bicycle, comfortable shoes and clothing, ice chest, folding chair and anything else you desire. Most conferees prefer to bring washcloths and extra towels, especially a large beach towel for after swimming. ATTIRE: Casual clothing is generally worn at the conference. Some conferees enjoy dressing up for supper; this is entirely optional. The College requires that shoes be worn in the dining room for safety reasons. MEALS: All meals will be served in Scandling Dining Room. Breakfast and lunch will be cafeteria service. Supper will be served by the College Food Service in the air-conditioned dining room at the back of Scandling. REFRIGERATION: Each building has at least one refrigerator. It is advisable to wrap and label your supplies with your name. If you would like to have a ready supply of ice cubes, bring along a small, insulated ice chest and purchase bags of cubes at a local shop. ROOMS: The rooms (Spartan dorm rooms) are generally furnished with twin size beds, dresser, desk and chair. Sheets, blankets, pillows and towels are provided by the College. The College will be providing general custodial service during the week. Any room problems should be reported at the Registrar’s desk on the list that will be provided. It is advisable to keep your room locked at all times. TRAVEL DIRECTIONS: From the New York Thruway (I-90): At Exit 42 take NY Route 14 South to Geneva. In the city, continue to St. Clair Street where you will turn right. Follow the signs to FL Conference. From the West: Routes 5 and 20 lead directly into Geneva. Upon reaching the city, proceed several miles and turn right on Pulteney Street. (Just after the College sports complex on the right.) Drive to St. Clair St and turn right. Follow signs to FL Conference. From the South/Southwest: Take Route 17/I-86 West to Route 14 North in Horseheads. Route 14 becomes South Main Street in Geneva. Turn left onto St. Clair St. and follow the signs to FL Conference. From the East: Takes Routes 5 & 20 West. Drive along the north end of Seneca Lake and at the top of the hill, turn left on Pulteney St. at the light. Drive to St. Clair St and turn right. Follow the signs to FL Conference. REGISTRATION: Once on St. Clair Street look for signs on the right that will direct you to the William Smith Campus of Hobart College and the FL registration in Comstock Building.
PARKING: Cars should be parked and kept locked in the College parking lots. Please keep the circle clear for loading and unloading only.
